Product Bulletin: New Standard for Interior Modular Columns

As we begin the new year, American Buildings’ focus on safety and providing economical solutions continues to be a top priority. Starting in February, there will be an adjustment to the frame interior (modular) column types which are available for selection in eQuote. In this change, square tube will take the place of round pipe as a standard column selection. However, pipe columns will still be available upon request if required for your project.

The two main benefits of this change are safety and versatility. Square tube columns are safer to handle both in our facility and in the field due to their decreased ability to roll or shift. Additionally, square tubes are more versatile than round pipe columns, making them better suited for various applications such as framed openings, girt and spandrel connections, and economizing frames through a fixed connection to the rafter.

Critical Dates: These offerings will be effective February 11. For more information, contact your local Sales Representative.

Our Commitment: American Buildings is committed to ongoing improvements in all aspects of our business. This adjustment aims to improve safety for our team and our partners while enhancing our competitive edge in the market. Your input and comments are always appreciated. If you have specific questions regarding this bulletin or any other area of our business, please contact your District Sales Manager or Project Coordinator.
