Coast Guard Hangar with 60' Mega Door

Designed to withstand Cold Bay's extreme climate, this 6,529 sf helicopter hangar for the U.S. Coast Guard is built adjacent to an existing hangar. It includes a mechanical room, office, restroom, and breezeway to connect the two buildings. It houses a second MH-60T helicopter for its Forward Operating Location.

Several sustainable features were incorporated into this project, including water efficient landscaping and enhanced refrigerant management. A clear span building with a Mega Door system with a clear height opening of 60’ x 22’.
