The McPhie Horse Barn in Wadsworth, OH is a purpose-built equestrian facility designed to support boarding, riding, and training activities. This over 27,000 sf addition expands the total footprint to 40,630 sf when combined with the adjacent existing structure.

Architecturally, the barn showcases a gable symmetrical framing system, complemented by Reverse R-Panel wall panels in Regal White and a Standing Seam 360 roof in Midnight Black. The roof is enhanced with field-fabricated cupolas, offering both ventilation and visual appeal.

With 27' eave heights, the design accommodates windows positioned above the neighboring building, along with vertical overhead doors for improved access and airflow. The facility also integrates customized box stalls and tack rooms, tailored to meet specific operational needs.

Built adjacent to a shorter existing structure, the project required innovative solutions for the roof tie-in of boarding facilities, expansion joint integration, and overall structural coordination. The result is a high-performance, elegant equestrian barn that blends functionality with refined design.
